School's out for summer!
School's out forever!
Over and Out, P.S. 1.

This level of satisfaction is just as good as graduating college. It feels great!
Time to head out and party hard with the teachers.

Alice Cooper Never sounded so good.

Thank you so much to all the fine folks who came down to Acme Friday night for the Hello Nurse show. We were aiming for 40, and our beautiful friends filled the room 55 strong. We had a blast up there performing for you all, and we hope you enjoyed the show. If you want more, or if you have friends who you think might dig it, or if you missed the Acme show, then come see us Wednesday, July 9th at the Lion's Den at 9pm.

Thanks also to everyone who trekked uptown for another 3647 party. It was a chill time, and Jackie made more food than we could possibly gulp down. Thanks so much, Jackie!

The only unfortunate incident of the evening was when Jeremy had to kick out this Scottish guy named Scott (how appropriate) who was acting completely inappropriate. He was mercilessly hitting on the women, he kept talking about how he has a hard time picking a good fight in New York, and then he started mouthing off to Jeremy about teaching. So, Jeremy turned on the teacher voice and ushered him out, and I ran to get Jeremy's back. He walked out without incident, and by the time he realized he had been removed our door was locked behind him. He stood in our hallway spouting vulgarities for about 10 minutes. Hopefully we'll never see that lug again.

Too bad we had to kick him out, because if he minded his manners he could have been the proud recipient of the Soho Fashion Sampler...

Dan Nieman told me the other day to check out the New Pornographers new album Electric Version. I just downloaded both New Pornographers albums. Oh my goodness! I'm flipping my lid, I'm absolutely giddy. Where has this band been all my life? I'm currently telling everyone I know about this band - and I must surely sound like old news. I didn't make any kind of discovery, in fact I'm probably one of the last on the boat within my circle of friends with sim. musical tastes. But, oh well, I'll remind them to unearth the old album from their cavernous Music folder subdirectories. The new one is a must if you like the first.

....and I thought Hello Nurse got a lot of porn sites in a google search!

My kids had a special outdoor assembly today on the playground. They sat in an open ended rectangle (like a squarish U shape) right by the fence. The fence is right near the street. A giant rusted blue van was parked right next to the playground. The van was some kind of wheelchair accessible conversion van from 1988. The kids were all seated, and out rolled Gizmo: The Million Dollar Robot. I think someone misplaced the decimal. Some guy inside the van operated this pile of bolts by remote control. The robot rolled around and preached to these kids about self esteem. One of the kids in my class go to hug the robot. But that's about the only positive thing to come from that sherade. When the robot talked to one side of the audience, the other side couldn't hear... not to mention the planes flying by overhead (we're right in La Guardia's flight path). Christopher said, "That robot is wack, yo!" when the robot didn't pick him for a robot ride. I think the robot operator only picked girls. I just wish I got a look at the guy inside the van. What a creepy, creepy job. After a while everyone stopped paying attention. All in all the assembly did more harm than good. For the rest of the day my kids were crazy.

And here the rest of us are trying to bring back electro, and Gizmo the Jizzmo has to go giving the next generation such a bad impression of remote control robots.

DISASSEMBLE!

Oh, and I got a new kid in my class today. Who enrolls with 2 weeks left?? Say it with me: "Only nice girls who don't cause trouble and sit there quietly enroll with two weeks left." Thank you for your support.

In case you missed it, Ms. Dominican Republic won the Miss Universe pagaent last night. When it was anounced I immediately pushed mute on the TV in order to listen to people up and down my block hang out their windows and cheer. It was hilarious.

In totally awful news: Field Day has been cancelled... of course we found out a half hour AFTER we bought our tent. Oh well, at least we have a new tent on our hands. Although, if anyone knows where Chris Campos has gotten off too I wouldn't mind having my old one back, too.
